I have a friend that has played Division 2 NPPL, can he play VSS in Novice?

No, he may not. Velocity Paintball is dedicated to providing a safe and economical tournament series for beginning players and provides an opportunity for players with little or no experience to get their feet wet in an organized tournament format. The only Division that does allow experienced player is Novice but ONLY at the AFTS D4 level.

What fields will be used?

We will not make a decision on what fields will be used until we have a team count prior to the event, but it will be one or more of the following X-Ball, NPPL, Sm Hype, and Spools.

What are the rules regarding markers and firing rate?

I will tell you what they will be looking for and how they will check for it.Quoted from Boston Mike

1. 280 for the velocity checked on the chrono
2. Is the gun on ramp or bouncing- the chrono ref will shoot your gun to see if it is bouncing or not and tell you to fix it or get a different gun. This is done before every game. Once your gun is checked by the ref it goes on the rack and you can not change anything. If you do it needs to be checked again.
3. If you are on the field and a ref thinks your gun is ramping they will pull you and the gun then all hell breaks loose. Not good for you or your team.
4. Since it is a beginner series the sticker and color issues of the gun are a little more relaxed, but if you have a sticker that looks like a hit and you get pulled for it that is your fault!!!
5. The cap is as one ball for every trigger pull!!! If you can shoot 18-20 good for you, you can shoot as fast as your fingers will allow!

How will you know if a player is eligible?

All names on all teams will be verified for the Division each player is eligible to play. This will also be cross referenced with the NPPL, XPSL, AFTS, RPL, WCPPL and PSP data bases to ensure that all players are eligible for the VSS.
